ABSTRACT:
Linear stability of a triply diffusive fluid layer heated from below, which is kept under the effect of uniform vertical magnetic field, has been studied by considering variable viscosity. A sufficient condition for the occurrence of stationary convection is derived. These results are uniformly valid for quite general nature of the bounding surfaces.
