ABSTRACT:
A layer of compressible, elastic-viscous fluid heated and soluted from below in the presence of porous is considered. For the case of stationary convection, the Walters, elastico viscous fluid behaves like an ordinary Newtonion fluid. The presence of solute gradient and magnetic field has a stabilising effect in the presence of compressibility and rotation postpone the onset of convection. The oscillatory modes are not allowed and the principle of exchange of stabilities is satisfied if kinematic viscoelasticity is less than the medium permeability divided by medium porosity. The presence of solute gradient and visco-elasticity introduces oscillatory modes in the presence of rotation. The case of overstability is also studied wherein a sufficient condition for the non-existence of overstability is found.
